I make it no secret that I’m a Dr. Who fan. I have a keychain of the tenth doctor and will freely bring it up in conversations whenever I can. When I started postcrossing nearly two years ago I had no idea that Dr. Who postcards were a real thing. I had just merely mentioned that I liked the show.
The day this wonderful little card showed up in my mailbox is a happy memory I will have for a while. It came all the way from Turkey, from a fellow Dr. Who fan. She said that she had kept it for the perfect person and thought that was me. How lucky was I? Today I only have 20 postcards from Dr. Who and most of them are from the Eleventh Doctor. I guess David Tennant was just too popular for things to stick around.
What most people don’t know is that I wasn’t a fan of the show when I first started watching it. I was bored one day and thought I would give it a chance. I didn’t finish the first episode that day. It wasn’t until nearly two months later before I actually looked forward and craved to watch the show. And now I can’t get my hands on the stuff fast enough.
So, thank you girl from Turkey for sending me this wonderful card to enlighten me on their existence and driving the need to get more.
